CSA Jewelry Making expert, Rachel Ison, will be teaching this Saturday workshop to anyone interested in making a spectacular Egyptian style coiled bracelet. An ancient Egyptian design that is still popular today, it easily goes from casual to elegant fashion. Participants will be using 18 gauge wire that is hand coiled into spiral links that interlock together to form the bracelet. The bracelet is smooth and fluid on your wrist and has a nice substantial feel. Once you make this bracelet, you’ll have the skill to make a matching necklace! Digital SLR Photography Workshop (ages 18+)

Do you want to practice what you have learned at your photography class out in the field? CSA Photography expert Lois Jones will be taking her popular class and condensing it for a wonderful day workshop experience.
The morning session will begin out in the field with instructions, suggestions, and troubleshooting during the shoot. Students will be given instructions on how to capture the photo they want with the proper exposure, composition and lighting. This workshop will provide practical application of the skills you learned in class with an instructor there to guide you and answer any questions. This will be a fun day for all who attend. Notification of the site will be given prior to the workshop.
The afternoon session will be spent in the computer lab reviewing your photos with further instruction and critique. A DLSR camera is required for this workshop. Also, prior digital photography experience or class is required. There will be a lunch break midway through the workshop. Lunch not provided. Please have a jump drive, method of transfer for the photos to the computer (We are working on a Mac computer and they have built in SD slots. Any other cards such as CF cards will need a card reader or USB cord for your camera.)

This fun day of art will begin at Dunbar Cave State Park where Mr. Pafford will be teaching you about how to sketch on-site. Dunbar Cave will serve as the perfect setting for the first stage of this workshop. The second stage will be on campus as you paint your sketch. Rachel Ison's second jewelry making workshop for the summer will be to make The Pharaoh’s Ring. It is a beautiful wire wrapped ring that features a lovely cabochon stone. Participants will be using 21-gauge wire and a cabochon stone to recreate a personal treasure. Originally made as a man’s ring, women have reworked the design for themselves!
