It is the mission of the APSU Community School of the Arts to provide opportunities in the arts for our community and surrounding area, no matter age or ability level. By offering a variety of courses, it is our goal to promote and increase an awareness of the arts. As a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts, we join other schools in their mission of offering quality education in the arts to all who seek it.
The Community School of the Arts at APSU offers:
Individual Music Instruction: Individual and group lessons are offered for guitar, piano, voice, violin, cello and all brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. Our teachers will help you fulfill your musical potential.
Music Ensembles: We offer group performance opportunities for vocalists and instrumentalists of all ages. Visit our Music page for more information.
Visual Arts: Classes in ceramics, art for children and teens, and watercolors. All classes are focused on giving you the tools necessary to enjoy your artistic interests.
Arts and Crafts: Flower arranging, jewelry making, and scrapbooking.
Photography: Classes for teens and adults interested in photography. We offer two levels of digital photography and a course in photographic design/Photoshop.
Dance: Unlock the power of movement and dramatic expression in our dance classes. The CSA is ready to help you explore your dance interests.
Theater:Do your children enjoy the limelight? We have classes for children and teens that are interested in exploring and furthering their interest in theater. These classes will give them an overall introduction to theater and acting in a fun and stimulating environment.
Writing:Have you ever wanted to improve your writing? Would you like to create a great short story or memoir? Or even add illustrations? The CSA offers courses to help you hone your writing skills and move you to the next level.
Web Design/Computer Graphics: Want to know more about using computers to meet your design needs? Ever wondered how to create a killer webpage? This is the course for you!

Course/Instruction Locations:
Classes, camps, and private instruction take place on the campus of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.
The office for the Coordinator is located in the Clement building, Room 112 next to the Browning Business building on the campus of APSU. Please call or email for an appointment time.
Nashville Symphony Student Ticket Subsidy:
Students enrolled in courses and lessons at the CSA are eligible for free tickets to select Nashville Symphony concerts. For more information, Click Here.
