About Us

Our Mission:

The APSU Community School of the Arts fosters the growth and enrichment of every child and adult by providing a challenging arts curriculum in which students master basic skills in the areas of the fine arts, crafts, foreign languages, and digital mediums and are given an outlet for creative expression. This mission is achieved by providing a warm and caring atmosphere where children and adults of varying readiness and abilities can build self-confidence and make progress in their emotional, social, and creative development.

About Us:

The Community School of the Arts (CSA) has been a part of Austin Peay State University (APSU) and the Clarksville, Ft. Campbell, and surrounding areas for over twenty years. Each week, the CSA welcomes over two hundred children and adults to the APSU campus to learn about the arts from highly qualified artists, teachers, and students. While taking classes through the CSA students get the opportunity to experience APSU's state of the art facilities and beautiful campus. This connection to the community is important for both the CSA and APSU. The courses and programs at the Community School of the Arts are open to anyone wishing to attend. Enrollment in Austin Peay State University is not required. The CSA strives to provide the best in community arts education and always welcomes suggestions for additional programs and feedback on current ones.

Community Support:

The Community School of the Arts is a not-for-profit department of Austin Peay State University. To fully develop our outreach to the community we must rely partially on the support of dedicated citizens, alumni, local business owners, and philanthropists. As part of achieving this goal the CSA has several ways that donors can give. For more information on how you can give, please visit the "Support the CSA" portion of our website or you can contact the University Advancement Office at 931-221-7127. The CSA also has plans in the near future to create a Guild where patrons can join as members and act as an active fundraising and community engagement group and have access to special discounts and events.
