Center's artistic programs in Music
The department of music is housed in a
state-of-the-art facility which includes a 600-seat
concert theatre, regarded as one of the finest
acoustical environments in the Southeast, and is a
fully accredited member of the National Association of
Schools of Music. Austin Peay's music faculty is
composed of nationally recognized performers, scholars
and educators and is enriched each year by the
visiting guests artists from around the world.
The department offers instrumental, vocal, keyboard
and ensemble instruction, as well as traditional
academic courses in music. Students are provided
many performance opportunities, solo as well as large
and small ensembles and along with faculty and guest
artists, are heard in more than 150 concerts annually.
