The
Center for the Creative Arts offers students unique
experiences in music, theatre, creative writing and
visual art -- experiences that challenge the
imagination and spur artistic creativity;
experiences that last a lifetime.
Established in 1985 as a Center of Excellence, the
Center for the Creative Arts is the only program of
its kind in the state, offering students rare
opportunities to work with nationally acclaimed
faculty and guest artists in the preparation and
study of the arts in a one-on-one environment.

The Center annually produces more
than 100 quality arts activities by
faculty and regional and
internationally acclaimed guest
artists who bring change in arts
awareness and understanding.
The Center for the Creative Arts is
symbolic of the University's
commitment to the enrichment of
life, which can be realized only
through an understanding and
appreciation of the arts.
A $9.5 million music/mass
communication building houses the
Center of Excellence for the
Creative Arts, greatly enhancing the
quality of arts events presented
there and serving as an
aesthetically enjoyable venue for
numerous other activities.
Completing the arts complex is the Trahern Fine Arts Building, which
houses the departments of theatre
and visual arts.
Performances are held in the elegant
European-style, 600-seat concert
theatre of the Music/Mass
Communication building and in the
more intimate atmosphere of the
200-seat Trahern Theatre. |
