Dr. Lowell G.
Roddy, LMFT
Director

Dr. Lowell G. Roddy, Director of Student Counseling
Services, has been with Austin Peay State University since December
2001. Prior to his employment with Austin Peay, Dr. Roddy was an
active duty Army chaplain for almost 26 years. A qualified
pastoral counselor, he was selected by the Army for additional graduate
training in marriage and family therapy in 1985. He served as
director of several family counseling programs in subsequent years.
He was on the faculty and staff of the Army Chaplain Center & School for
five years prior to coming to Fort Campbell for his retirement.
Dr. Roddy’s degrees include a Bachelor of Arts degree
in English from Bethel College, a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral
Care & Counseling from Memphis Theological Seminary, a Master of
Theology degree in Theology and Personality from Princeton Seminary, a
Master of Education degree in Family Therapy from the University of
Louisville, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Memphis Theological
Seminary. He is a licensed marital and family therapist.
Professional memberships include the American Association for Marriage
and Family Therapy, the National Association of Student Personnel
Administrators, the Association of University and College Counseling
Center Directors, and the Southeastern College Counseling Center
Personnel.
Ms. Kim Clarke, LPC-MHSP
Counselor
Kim
Clarke is a counselor in Student Counseling Services. She received
a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Arts in Guidance and
Counseling from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Prior to coming to Austin Peay, she provided therapy for adolescent
girls and their families in a residential treatment facility in
Nashville. She has also worked in a community mental health
setting providing individual, group and family therapy. She has
been with Austin Peay State University since June 2004.
In addition to counseling, Kim teaches an
undergraduate course in African American psychology. Currently she
is working to develop this course into an online format. She
recently completed requirements for state licensure as a counselor and
is a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider
designation.
Dr. Berrylin Martin
Post Doctoral Fellow
Dr.
Berrylin Martin joined us in August of 2008 and is the Post Doctoral
Fellow. She received her Masters and Psychology Doctorate (Psy.D.)
from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Prior to
joining our staff, she was living in Grand Forks, North Dakota in order
to complete her training through an internship at the University of
North Dakota Counseling Center. Dr. Martin also has a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Advertising from Florida State University as well as a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North
Florida.
Dr. Martin was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She
enjoys coffee, road trips, live music, laughing until you cry and coke
in the glass bottle. She has many favorite quotes, but one of the
all time favs is from Auntie Mame: "Life is a banquet and
some poor suckers are starving to death. You must live! live!
live!"
Mr. John Edmondson, LADAC
Substance Abuse Counselor
John
Edmondson is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug of Abuse Counselor (LADAC), and
is a Board Certified, Qualified Clinical Supervisor. John is a
familiar face at APSU, starting in 1994 with The Student Development
Center, and has worked with the Counseling Center and Testing Center.
Mr. Edmondson has been in the Substance Abuse Counseling field since
1987 and brings a unique perspective to the Counseling Office.
Ms. Lindsey Johnson, M.S.
Graduate Assistant Counselor
Lindsey
Johnson is the graduate assistant in Counseling Services. She received
her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Social Work in
2003 and her Master of Science in Counseling in 2005 from Freed-Hardeman
University. She is currently working on her Ed.S. in School Counseling
and is expected to graduate in December 2010.
After graduating with her master’s,
Lindsey worked as a Crisis Counselor for the West Tennessee Healthcare
System in Jackson, TN. In 2006, she moved to Nashville, TN and joined
the Vanderbilt University Medical Center staff as a Research Analyst II.
She spent a little over 3 years at Vanderbilt working on a breast cancer
research study. Lindsey joined the Austin Peay Counseling Center in
August 2009.

Priscilla Dale
Administrative Assistant 2
Priscilla
Dale is the administrative assistant for Student Counseling Services
and has been with Austin Peay State University since
August 2007. She received her Bachelor of Social
Work degree with minors in psychology and sociology from Middle Tennessee State University in
Murfreesboro Tennessee. Prior to her employment
with Austin Peay, she worked 15 years in residential
treatment providing case management to at risk
adolescents. Other work experiences include case
management and supervision in foster care/adoption and
work with developmentally disabled adults.
