Dr. Lowell G. Roddy,
LMFT
Director

Dr. Lowell G. Roddy, Director of Student Counseling
Services, has been with Austin Peay State University since December
2001. Prior to his employment with Austin Peay, Dr. Roddy was an
active duty Army chaplain for almost 26 years. A qualified
pastoral counselor, he was selected by the Army for additional graduate
training in marriage and family therapy in 1985. He served as
director of several family counseling programs in subsequent years.
He was on the faculty and staff of the Army Chaplain Center & School for
five years prior to coming to Fort Campbell for his retirement.
Dr. Roddy’s degrees include a Bachelor of Arts
degree in English from Bethel College, a Master of Divinity degree in
Pastoral Care & Counseling from Memphis Theological Seminary, a Master
of Theology degree in Theology and Personality from Princeton Seminary,
a Master of Education degree in Family Therapy from the University of
Louisville, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Memphis Theological
Seminary. He is a licensed marital and family therapist.
Professional memberships include the American Association for Marriage
and Family Therapy, the National Association of Student Personnel
Administrators, the Association of University and College Counseling
Center Directors, and the Southeastern College Counseling Center
Personnel.
Dr. Berrylin Martin
Post Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Berrylin Martin joined us in August of 2008 and is the Post Doctoral
Fellow. She received her Masters and Psychology Doctorate (Psy.D.)
from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Prior to
joining our staff, she was living in Grand Forks, North Dakota in order
to complete her training through an internship at the University of
North Dakota Counseling Center. Dr. Martin also has a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Advertising from Florida State University as well as a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North
Florida.
Dr. Martin was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She
enjoys coffee, road trips, live music, laughing until you cry and coke
in the glass bottle. She has many favorite quotes, but one of the
all time favs is from Auntie Mame: "Life is a banquet and
some poor suckers are starving to death. You must live! live!
live!" Ms.
Kim Clarke, LPC-MHSP
Counselor
Kim Clarke is a counselor in Student Counseling Services. She
received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Arts in
Guidance and Counseling from Bowling Green State University in Bowling
Green, Ohio. Prior to coming to Austin Peay, she provided therapy
for adolescent girls and their families in a residential treatment
facility in Nashville. She has also worked in a community mental
health setting providing individual, group and family therapy. She
has been with Austin Peay State University since June 2004.
In addition to counseling, Kim teaches an undergraduate course in
African American psychology. Currently she is working to develop
this course into an online format. She recently completed
requirements for state licensure as a counselor and is a Licensed
Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation.
Ms. Casey Atkins
Graduate Assistant
Casey
Atkins is the graduate assistant in Student Counseling
Services. She received her Bachelor of Science in
Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Austin Peay
State University. She is currently in her second
year of graduate school working on her Master of Science
in School Counseling and plans to graduate in the fall
of 2009.
Ms. Priscilla Dale
Secretary II
Priscilla
Dale is the secretary for Student Counseling Services
and has been with Austin Peay State University since
August 2007. She received her Bachelor of Social
Work degree from Middle Tennessee State University in
Murfreesboro Tennessee. Prior to her employment
with Austin Peay, she worked 15 years in residential
treatment providing case management to at risk
adolescents. Other work experiences include case
management and supervision in foster care/adoption and
work with developmentally disabled adults.
