In December, 2012, Student Counseling Services sent out an online Counseling Groups Interest Survey to all APSU students who were most likely to enroll in the 2013 Spring Semester. Based upon APSU students’ expressed group topic interests and day/time availability from the over 200 completed surveys that we got back, we developed the following 2013 Spring Semester group schedule:
Do you feel like life has been handing you a never-ending series of “To do” lists? And while you’re generally able to handle these numerous everyday tasks (and sometimes difficulties), at the end of the day, do you have more of a feeling of relief, as opposed to a sense of satisfaction or fulfillment? In other words, do you feel like you’re “making it,” yet at the same time, you’re not really quite sure what it is that you’re making?
Do you wonder how you will make through the semester? Do you have too much to do and not enough hours in the day to get it done? You have found help! Come for suggestions and tips on how to deal with stress and improve your own stress management skills!
Facilitated by: Michelle Barnhart, M.A., LPC-MHSP, CPS II
When: Tuesdays, 4:15—5:45pm
Where: Student Counseling Services, Ellington Bldg., Room 205
Begins: Tuesday, February 19th
Are you constantly worrying? Do you avoid large groups of people? Does giving that class presentation freak you out? Learn how to live a more peaceful life, welcome new experiences, and manage your fears by exploring the thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and physical reactions that contribute to your anxiety, while gaining support and encouragement from others who are coping with similar difficulties.
Facilitated by: Teresa Prendes, M.A./Ed.S. and Melissa Peters, B.S. – Student Counseling Services
When: Thursdays, 2:30 – 4:00
Where: Student Counseling Services - Ellington Bldg., Room 208
