Application Deadlines

University policy states that degree candidates must file an application for degree with the Office of the Registrar.

Ceremony Participation Guidelines

All requirements for degree must be completed by the applied graduation date in order to participate in a ceremony.  

  • If you plan to march in the December ceremony, all requirements for degree must be completed in December. 
  • If you plan to march in the May ceremony, all requirements for degree must be completed in May.
  • If you plan to march in the August ceremony, all requirements for degree must be completed in August.

Other requirements and deadlines will be listed in the schedule of classes and furnished by the offices involved (i.e. Senior Exit Exam test, major field test, etc.).

Graduation Fees

You should pay the required graduation fee in the Business Office (Browning Building) during the semester in which you are graduating. The $25.00 fee for Associate's degree candidates and the $30.00 fee for Bachelor's degree candidates and the $35.00 fee for Master's and Education Specialist degree candidates are set by the State and covers the processing fee and cost of your cap, gown, tassel, diploma insert and diploma cover.

Senior Exit Exam

Required of all students receiving a bachelor's degree in ANY major. Must be taken during the graduation term. There is NO CHARGE for this exam. For more information, go to http://www.apsu.edu/ire/senior_exam or call Institutional Research & Effectiveness at (931) 221-6184.

GPA Requirement for Undergraduates

Before your application for degree can be accepted, you must have a 2.00 overall grade point average (excluding Developmental Studies courses) for all APSU, major and minor course work before graduation.

Transfer of Courses

If you anticipate completing any course(s) at another institution, the course(s) must be specified on a Course Work Approval Form filed with the Office of the Registrar.  It must include the selected course(s), dates of enrollment, institution, advisor/department chair approval and Office of the Registrar approval. An OFFICIAL transcript must be received from the institution immediately upon completion of the course(s).

Cancellation

Please notify the Office of the Registrar in writing of any changes in your graduation plans or address. You will be assessed a cancellation fee if you cancel/revise your application after the deadline.
