Where do I park?

General parking for commencement ceremonies is located on the east side of the Dunn Center off of Drane Street. Handicapped-accessible parking is located on the west side of the Dunn Center off of Robb Avenue.

Is there handicapped-accessible parking?

Handicapped-accessible parking is located on the west side of the Dunn Center off of Robb Avenue (Campus Parking Map).

Is there handicapped-accessible seating?

There is a limited number of handicapped seating.  Seats must be reserved by the graduate.  Graduates my contact Jasmine O'Brien at 221-7124  to obtain tickets for handicapped seating.

Can I take pictures or videotape?

Cameras and video cameras are permitted during commencement. Please use your best judgment and respect the people around you while taking photos or filming. The third level of the Dunn Center is available for unobstructed photography or filming. Also, please remember that no guests are permitted on the arena floor during the ceremony.

What time is commencement?

At 10:00 a.m.,Friday, May 10, 2013, the candidates for degrees from the College of Arts & Letters, College of Science & Mathematics, and School of Technology and Public Management will participate in commencement exercises.

At 2.pm., Friday, May 10, 2013,  the candidates for degrees from the College of Behavioral & Health Sciences, College of Business, and College of Education will participate in commencement exercises.

The doors will open one hour prior of the start time for commencement for graduates and guests.

Students who have filed for graduate degrees will participate in the commencement ceremony for the college that houses the academic program. For instance, if a student is on schedule to receive a Master of Arts in communication arts, the student would participate in the  10 am. ceremony with the College of Arts and Letters because the APSU Department of Communication belongs to that college.

How long does the ceremony last?

Depending on the number of graduates, the ceremony lasts anywhere between one to one one-half hours.

Are tickets required?

No.

Are there limits to the number of guests each graduate can bring?

No. All family and friends are welcome.

Is it open to the public?

Yes.

Is the ceremony filmed? Can I get a copy?

The Department of Communication films and produces a DVD of each commencement ceremony. You may order a copy of your commencement ceremony on DVD by filling out the Graduation DVD Order Form

What are the school colors?

Austin Peay's official school colors are red and white. Black and variations of gray may also be used as supplemental colors.
