At 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2017, the candidates for degrees from all colleges will participate in this commencement exercise. There is only one ceremony in the summer.
Students who have filed for graduate degrees will participate in this commencement ceremony.
General parking for commencement ceremonies is located in the Foy Fitness Center lot off of Drane Street. Handicapped-accessible parking is located on the west side of the Dunn Center off of Robb Avenue.
Handicapped-accessible parking is located on the west side of the Dunn Center off of Robb Avenue and directly behind the Dunn Center.
The Department of Communication films and produces a DVD of each commencement ceremony. You may order a copy of your commencement ceremony on DVD by filling out the Graduation DVD Order Form.
Depending on the number of graduates, the ceremony lasts approximately an hour and a half.
When you arrive to the Dunn Center, you will be directed to the correct hallway for your major/college. Once the ceremony begins, you will be led to your seat by a staff marshall, who will be wearing a black gown with a red APSU stole.
Tassels should be worn on the right side of your cap. Students who are graduating with a Master degree or Education Specialist degree will wear the tassel on the left side of your cap.
Degree candidates who wish to have graduation information released to their hometown newspaper must complete a form on APSU's Web site for that information to be sent.
Also, students who believe they are eligible for the Dean's List would like to have this academic accomplishment released to their hometown newspaper, must complete a separate form to have this information released to the hometown newspaper. Shortly after the completion of each semester, the Office of the Registrar will have a complete list of students who achieved the Dean’s List.
Lists of both graduation candidates and Dean's List scholars will be sent automatically to The Leaf-Chronicle in Clarksville. Use the Web links below to complete the appropriate form if you want a hometown newspaper to be notified. Forms must be completed in their entirety.
If you have any questions about hometown press releases, please contact the Office of Public Relations and Marketing, (931)221-7459.
