Institutional Review Board
Research Involving Human Participants
Any research involving humans or human tissues conducted under the auspices of APSU must be reviewed by the Austin Peay State University Institutional Review Board (APSU IRB). Research with minimal involvement of human participants, such as surveys or questionnaires, require some procedural APSU IRB review. Investigators are required to submit to the College of Graduate Studies/APSU IRB a completed Application for Project Review. Instructions and an example of an Informed Consent Document are provided under the Applications and Forms section.
All applications must be submitted one week prior to the scheduled meeting date to be reviewed by the board. Any application not meeting the one week prior to IRB meeting deadline is subject to being tabled until the following month’s scheduled meeting. For submission requirements please see the Applications and Forms section.
