Graduate Student Holds Admissions or Program of Study Holds
Admissions
Holds
If you have tried to
register for classes and are unable to do so because of a
"Graduate Max Hour" hold, this generally means your application for
admission is incomplete.
Below is a simple checklist
of the general information needed to complete your graduate admissions process.
All of these items must be submitted to
the graduate admissions office before a student can exceed nine
registered credit hours:
The Program of Study/Admission to
Candidacy/Committee Assignment (POS) form must be submitted
to the College of Graduate Studies (COGS) after completion of
the admission requirements and before 9 credit
hours are completed to avoid a hold on the student record. It is
important to note that the form must be turned
in only after all application items have been
received. If the Program of Study form is turned into the
COGS office before all
admission requirements are met a
"POS hold" (see below) will be issued.
All graduate students
admitted to a degree-seeking program must complete and submit to
COGS their Program of Study/Admission to Candidacy/Committee
Assignment (POS) form. Graduate students are
required to meet with their graduate advisor to determine the
courses needed to successfully complete their graduate program.
The POS must be received before the completion of nine
credit hours. If you attempted to register for courses and are
unable to do so because of a POS hold, please
speak to your graduate advisor to complete the form.
If you have a POS hold, and
have yet to register for nine credit hours call COGS for a temporary registration waiver
at (931) 221-7414.
