1.   President Sherry Hoppe

Dr. Hoppe reported the THEC decisions regarding formula funding; the Governor’s recommendation for continuation budget; and the projected APSU fall enrollment for main campus and Fort Campbell.

Dr. Speck will be given the THEC formulas regarding student/faculty ratios to email to deans, directors, and chairs.  Dr. Speck will need to appoint a task force to revisit the teaching load policy in response to the new faculty/student ratios.

Dr. Hoppe informed the deans, directors, and chairs not to turn away students – the fall enrollment will be critical in APSU’s future formula funding.  Houston Davis will research the possibility of graduate assistants teaching.  Deans were asked to get with their chairs before next Wednesday to determine courses that could be added for 14th day of fall.  There is still time to get courses in the schedule of classes.  Dr. Hoppe asked everyone to think about how to meet these challenges.

2.      Electronic Dossiers – Dr. Speck

Dr. Speck is going forward with the movement to electronic dossiers.  Input was requested from the group.  Training will be provided for those preparing and reviewing the dossiers.

3.      No Extra Compensation for Post-Retirement Faculty

Class enrollments for post-retirement instructors should not exceed the limit; this should be monitored closely.

Dr. Speck asked chairs and deans to closely monitor the 25% limit for the academic year and summer terms.

4.      Renewal of Library Books – Deborah Fetch

The library is starting a new policy which requires that faculty renew their library books once a year.  The library has a web site where you may log onto your account to view a list of books checked out.

5.      Payment Method for Advising Coordinators

Drs. Hunt and Diehr noted that Harriett McQueen’s office will provide the advisement information to the deans’ offices and the dean’s staff will originate the payment forms.
