The
committee will be responsible for critiquing and
supporting unit assessment efforts, reviewing
competency assessment results for general education
core and program areas, advising and reviewing pilot
testing programs, making recommendations on changes
and improvements to university assessments, and
preparing an assessment report to the president on
progress and plans. In order to meet university
goals, the Assessment Committee will ensure that
plans include assessing academic achievement,
student learning, academic support, and campus
life. This committee is advisory to the office of
institutional research and the president’s office in
setting a priority agenda and providing guidance on
assessing student success at Austin Peay State
University.
The committee will submit an annual
report to the Academic Council and the Institutional
Effectiveness Tracking System (IETS) Oversight
Team.
