On-Campus Recruiting Information for Employers

The on-campus recruitment program (OCR) allows businesses and institutions to meet with Austin Peay students and alumni in a centralized location. It is an effective and inexpensive way to find highly qualified candidates.

Highlights of On-Campus Recruiting

  • On-campus dates are available each Fall and Spring.
  • OCR gives you access to a qualified pool of candidates in a variety of fields. APSU offers more than 50 majors all of which foster problem-solving, teamwork and creativity. We strive to educate well-rounded individuals who become great assets in the workplace.
  • The OCR experience can be adapted to meet the needs of your organization. You can set up an information table, host a presentation, conduct prescreened interviews or arrange a combination of events.

  • On-campus recruiting is free of charge. We will reserve appropriate facilities, promote your visit, schedule appointments and provide easy loading and parking. All we ask is that you respect and abide by the rules and regulations.

Registration Process

Obtain a registration form by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. You can also call Career Services at (931) 221-6544 and we will fax or mail a copy to your organization. Please fill in the requested information as completely as possible; it will be used to plan and promote your visit. Paper forms can be returned to Career Services at (931) 221-7100 or P.O. Box 4637, Clarksville, TN 37044.

What to Expect

For Table Set Up and Presentations...

Setting up an information table in our University Center or hosting a presentation in one of our meeting rooms are great ways to introduce your company to campus and take the first step to finding strong candidates for job openings.

Once we receive your registration, we will book appropriate space and send you an e-mail confirmation. We will also mail you a welcome packet with directions, a parking pass and other useful information. Prior to your arrival, we will advertise your visit on campus. Be sure to follow up with us regularly so that we can help make your event a success.

On the day of your visit, a presentation room or table will be set up with basic seating. If you need additional accommodations or equipment (outlet, AV, etc.), please let Career Services know in your initial registration. Throughout your stay, we will are happy to help however we can.

For Interviews...

Interviewing candidates on campus is an convenient and inexpensive way to fill job openings from a qualified pool in a centralized location.

Once we receive your registration, we will book appropriate space and send you an e-mail confirmation. We will also mail you a welcome packet with directions, a parking pass and other useful information. We then advertise your position and collect resumes based on your selection criteria. Interviews are scheduled for qualified candidates in half hour increments (unless otherwise specified). If you are interviewing all day from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., we generally plan an hour break at noon. You will receive a copy of the interview schedule and candidate resumes no later than 48 hours before your visit.

On the day of your visit, a private interview room will be set up with a table or desk and chairs. If you need additional accommodations or equipment please let Career Services know in your initial registration. Throughout your stay, we are happy to help however we can.

*Career Services personnel will not set up individual appointments with candidates for recruiters of companies who provide commission based salaries.

Tips for a Successful Recruiting Visit

  • Return your registration form as soon as possible to allow Career Services time to fully prepare for your visit.
  • Do not cancel or alter your recruiting date unless absolutely necessary. If you must make a change, please do so in writing (e-mail, mail, fax) at least 10 days in advance in consideration of our students.
  • Keep in touch with Career Services. Communicate your needs to us so that we can help make your recruiting experience a success.
  • Call our office 24 hours prior to your visit to confirm your schedule.
  • Forward copies of the materials we send you (confirmation, map, parking pass, resumes, etc.) to your campus recruiter as soon as you receive them.
