• To inform applicants about the job and organization.
• To determine whether the applicant's "personal chemistry" will be compatible with that of others in the organization.

Interviewee:

• To present oneself as the most favorable candidate for the job.
• To gain information about the organizations as a future place of employment.
• To test "personal chemistry."
