College of Business

The mission of the APSU College of Business is to promote the continuous development of a learning environment, through excellent teaching and faculty research, which challenges students to push beyond the textbook, explore the limits of their capabilities and discover their individual passions.

About the College of Business

The College of Business offers programs in four primary disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, that prepare students for careers in business. Students can receive the Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or Management.  Our graduate program advances professional skills in human resource management, technology and information systems, financial statement analysis, and leadership. The College, which began as the School of Business and Economics in 1968, includes two departments: the Department of Accounting, Finance, & Economics and the Department of Management, Marketing, & General Business.

The faculty of the College of Business consists of over 23 dedicated professors and instructors whose research ranges from entrepreneurial pedagogy to applied financial statement quality control. The College of Business faculty provides rich experiences for their students and valuable expertise for the community.

The Larry W. Carroll Financial Trading Center is housed in the College of Business and provides students and community members with access to current financial data using Bloomberg terminals.  The APSU College of Business also provides support to students through the Academic Advising Center which includes two full-time advisors and a part-time graduate advisor.

The College of Business Advisory Board is a vital component of the business education unit as it serves as a sounding board for present and proposed programs and activities of the College, as well as identifying opportunities for business students to enrich their education through internships, mentorships, and other learning-practical work experiences.
