Biology Teaching Licensure

General Education (see TBR Common Core): 42 Credit Hours

The following specific General Education courses are required for this major:

  • MATH 1730 Precalculus (4 hrs)
  • GEOG 1010 Physical Geography (3 hrs)
  • CHEM 1010 and CHEM 1020 OR CHEM 1110 and CHEM 1120 (8 or 10 hrs)

Students completing this course sequence are eligible to apply for teacher licensure in   Tennessee to teach biology in high school and general science in middle and high school.
