  1. What version of Banner are we using?
    A Banner form, GUAABOT, displays the versions of each of our Banner products.
  2. How do I email a large class from Faculty Self Service?
    If your class has a large number of student (>100) Banner's Email class link in Self Service does not work. A work-around for this problem is to copy/paste the student email addresses into Outlook.

    2. In Browser, click on View then Source

    3. Find inside Source, and cut/paste into Outlook the email string below between the Bcc= AND the ">Email class but do not include the Bcc= and ">Email class strings.

  3. When I first start Banner INB, why do I get an error and Internet Explorer exits?

    The most common reason for this problem is the versions of Java installed on your PC.

    Solution:
    1. Close all IE windows.
    2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Java\jre<latest version>\bin\client\
    3. Copy the file jvm.dll
    4. Go to C:\Program Files\Oracle\Jinitiator<latest version>\bin\hotspot\
    5. Rename the jvm.dll file to jvm.dll.old in step 4.
    6. Copy file to Step 4 folder with the copy from Step 3.

  4. Does Banner support IE8 (Internet Explorer version 8)?
    According to Sungard as of Oct 2009, Banner has not been tested with IE8 and is not supported. Banner Development does not currently have an estimated date of support for Banner and IE8. For further information login to the sungardhe.com support website, and view the Banner Unified Digital Campus (UDC), Product Compatibility document.
  5. What is wrong when I get this error message when trying to run a report in Argos?
    This error means there is no connection to Oracle. This usually happens when the PPRD database instance is unavailable/down.

  8. Why are some of the fields no longer displayed on some of my Banner INB forms?

    GUAUPRF needs to be changed. This is a screen shot as a reference for users with this problem. The user must be logged into their own account. The user has changed one of the settings below that causes this problem. After correcting, the user must sign out and back in for these settings to take affectScreenshot of a Banner form

Open Internet Explorer ( you must be running Internet Explorer to login to Argos)

  • Go To Tools > Internet options >Security
  • Click on the Trusted Sites Icon
  • Click on the Sites button
  • Uncheck Require server verification (https for all sites in this zone
  • Add these two websites: http://apbrarg2.apsu.edu and http://apbrarg0.apsu.edu
