2013 - 2014 Information Technology Proposals

Each year, the Technology Committee solicits and reviews proposals for information technology projects. The committee has a mandate to review proposals for projects to be funded from all sources, including Technology Access Fee (TAF), year-end money, Centers of Excellence, external grants, or other sources. One function of this process is to identify projects that are eligible under TBR and APSU guidelines for TAF funding (http://www.apsu.edu/files/atc/TAF_Guidelines.pdf). The committee then reviews the eligible projects and recommends projects for funding.

Proposals not meeting guidelines for TAF funding will become part of the university budget cycle where they will be considered for funding along with all other university priorities. Technology proposals must be submitted through this process to be considered for any type of university funding.

I am writing at this time to request proposals for projects to be reviewed in 2013.

The Technology Project Form (signatures not required) must be emailed to jonesb@apsu.edu no later than February 1, 2013

A printed Project Approval Form must be completed with necessary signatures and be received by OIT (Box 4606) no later than February 8, 2013.

Several worksheets have been included to help in the planning of your proposal.

Proposals that have been previously sent to the Technology Committee and have not been funded must be resubmitted to be considered for funding. TAF proposals for lab operating and student workers in existing student computer labs should not be submitted at this time. Additionally, proposals for updating or renovating multimedia classrooms (previously called smart classrooms) are not needed at this time. The Technology committee has implemented procedures that will renovate multimedia classrooms on a regularly scheduled basis.
