His lectures unpack some of the issues that modern artists face: intellectual property, onwership of ideas, and above all, how art navigates the complex culture of digital media. Miller's discussion will focus on how "sound" acts as an invisible theater where the distinction between sound art, information, and digital production methods are viewed as tools for the creative spirit of the artist in a world that is rapidly becoming more and more connected in unexpected and sometimes astonishing ways. Miller's lecture will be an hour, and is accompanied by his use of many historic texts, rare audio recordings and films to demonstrate the complex relationship between text and art in a multimedia context.
