APSU’s Walker presents research at conference
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Amanda L. Walker, director of Career Services at Austin Peay State University, recently presented at the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers Conference (SoACE) in Austin, Texas. SoACE is the regional association conference that supports both colleges and employer members. It is designed to provide the highest level of professional development to as many career services and employer human resources professionals as possible within a three-day period.
Walker is a SoACE Fellowship recipient and presented her dissertation pilot study at the conference. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Delta State University working to complete her dissertation.
Walker also served as a contributing author for the new book, “Total Internship Management: The Employer’s Guide to Building the Ultimate Internship Program.” Her chapter focuses on considering special populations for internship positions and how employers can increase productivity and morale in the workplace through these initiatives. The book was released earlier this month.
