APSU employees share recent professional developments, activities

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced achievements as part of their professional and scholarly activities.

Sue Fort, assistant director of Housing Operations, and Joe Mills, assistant vice president for Student Affairs/director of Housing, recently attended and presented an educational session at the Tennessee Association of College and University Housing Officers (TACUHO) conference in Chattanooga. The presentation was titled, “Customer Service in Housing…Yes, you can DO IT!!”

Sue Fort, assistant director of Housing Operations, and Joe Mills, assistant vice president for Student Affairs/director of Housing, recently attended and presented an educational session at the Tennessee Association of College and University Housing Officers (TACUHO) conference in Chattanooga. The presentation was titled, “Customer Service in Housing…Yes, you can DO IT!!”

Mills also was an invited speaker to the annual ACUHO- I/APPA Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, on Oct. 27-30. He presented an educational session on “Purchasing and Specifying Residence Hall Furniture.”

Judy Blain, director of Purchasing, recently attended the Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi (TAGM) Regional Meeting for the National Association of Educational Procurement in Atlanta, Georgia. At the meeting, Blain was elected second vice president of TAGM for 2014-2015. The next year, she will be first vice president, and then president in 2016-2017.
