The local event coincides with the National RUN@WORK Day, held the third Friday of every September and sponsored by the Road Runners Club of America. The event, which started nationally five years ago, encourages people to incorporate at least 30 minutes of walking or running into their daily lives.

The APSU event will be a run/walk around campus. Door prizes will be given after the event.
