Wind Ensemble to perform Dec. 4

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will present a concert featuring the APSU Wind Ensemble.

Under the direction of Dr. Gregory Wolynec, associate professor of music at APSU, the concert will start at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert features two world premiere performances. The first premiere is “Contemplations” by Anthony Plog. This work is scored for Flugelhorn and Wind Ensemble. Richard Steffen, trumpet professor at APSU, will perform as soloist in this piece. The second premiere performance is “Freylekhs and Fugue,” by Dr. Jeffrey Wood, professor of music at APSU.
