Top marching bands to perform at APSU

A total of 28 high school marching bands, including several previous regional and national class champions, will perform in the 2007 Bands of America Regional Championship on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Austin Peay State Universitys Governors Stadium.

The APSU Marching Band is hosting the event and will perform in special exhibition at the conclusion of preliminaries and finals.

Twelve bands from Tennessee as well as other bands from Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Ohio and Indiana are scheduled to perform.

The APSU Marching Band is hosting the event and will perform in special exhibition at the conclusion of preliminaries and finals.

Twelve bands from Tennessee as well as other bands from Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Ohio and Indiana are scheduled to perform.

Gates open at 7:30 a.m. with preliminary performances from 8:15 a.m. — 4:45 p.m., closing with a performance by the APSU Marching Band. Gates reopen at 6:45 p.m. for the championship performances from 7:15-10:15 p.m. and for a second performance by the Governors Marching Band at 10:15 p.m.

Tickets are $15 to attend the preliminaries or finals or $23 for a day pass to both events. Tickets are available at the box office on the day of the event.

Bands of America is a program of Music for All, one of the largest national music education organizations in support of active music making. Music for All combines programming at a national level with awareness campaigns, research and advocacy.

The Bands of America Regional Championship at Clarksville is among more than 30 events across the nation that Music for All produces annually.
