Stakes raised for 12th annual Governors Bass tourney

The stakes have been raised for the 12th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament to be held Saturday, May 13 at Kentucky Lake.

The tourney, which guarantees $11,000 in prize money, has added a $12,000 150 EFI Mercury motor, donated by B&J Marine and Mercury Outboards, as a door prize. That comes on the heels of B&J Marine, along with Motorguide, donating a trolling motor as a door prize.

The popular event, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tenn., State Park, drew a record 260 boats last year, despite threatening weather.
