Staff Council helping student family for holiday season

The Staff Council at Austin Peay State University has adopted a family through the Universitys annual Help-an-Elf Program for the holiday season.

The Help-an-Elf Program at APSU seeks campus participation from organizations and departments to purchase holiday gifts for children, or elves, of eligible APSU students. Members of Staff Council are collecting cash, gift cards and other donations to help a family of three children: 18 months, 11 and 13.

The Help-an-Elf Program at APSU seeks campus participation from organizations and departments to purchase holiday gifts for children, or “elves,” of eligible APSU students. Members of Staff Council are collecting cash, gift cards and other donations to help a family of three children: 18 months, 11 and 13.

The 18-month-old girl wears a shirt size of 2T, with pants and dress sizes appropriate to the age. Shoe size is 5W for infants. Her interests are anything Elmo, Barbie, Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants movies and Legos.

The 11-year-old girl, a fifth-grader, wears medium-sized shirts, 10 in pants and dresses and 3 in shoes. She would like to receive anything Barbie, baby dolls, books, a toy laptop and any other age-appropriate items.

The 13-year-old boy, who is in the seventh grade, wears a medium shirt, size 12 pants and 5 in shoes. He likes cars, race tracks, PlayStation 2 nonviolent video games and sports, books and the “Harry Potter” movies.

Staff Council has established six locations on campus where contributions are being accepted until Dec. 13:
• Office of Academic Affairs, main floor of the Browning Administration Building.
• Public Relations and Marketing, located on the top floor of Browning.
• Student Affairs, located in the Morgan University Center, Room 206.
• Circulation desk in Woodward Library.
• Public Safety, located in the Shasteen Building.
• Physical Plant, located in the Shasteen Building.

Donations also may be sent by campus mail to Delilah Powell-Smith in Student Affairs, P.O. Box 4598. All donations are tax-deductible.
