APSU is proud to announce the lineup for the 44th Annual Mid-South Jazz Festival.

The concert theatre of the mass/music communication building will sizzle each night at 7:30 p.m., Friday-Saturday, April 8-9, as part of the Rivers & Spires Festival and the APSU/Clarksville Community Concert Artist Series.

Friday's concert will feature the APSU Jazz Combo, directed by David Steinquest, professor of music, and the APSU Jazz Collegians, directed by Richard Steffen, professor of music.

The series culminates Saturday evening with a performance by critically-acclaimed vocalist and six-time Grammy Award nominee Kurt Elling. The man Artie Shaw says is “arguably the best jazz singer to come along in years” combines vocalese with the spoken word, scatting and an appreciation of the classic jazz songbook to re-energize the art of jazz singing for a new generation.
