Show gratitude for good health by donating sick days

January 14, 2003

If you've been blessed with robust health, you may have accumulated a number of unused sick days. Here's an opportunity to do something charitable with them.

In January, faculty and staff can "donate" sick days to the University's sick leave "bank." The existence of such a bank means that Austin Peay employees whose sick days have been exhausted by a lengthy illness or injury can continue to be paid for a time after their own sick leave has been exhausted.

The Office of Human Resources sent enrollment forms to employees not yet participating in the program earlier this month. If you agreed to participate during previous enrollment periods, no further action is required. You are already a member of the program.

Enrollment is open to all regular employees of the University who accrue sick leave. Forms should be returned to Human Resources by Jan. 31.
