In his capacity he will serve as liaison between the University's admissions, records and registration and career services offices, as well as University faculty.

After receiving both his bachelor's (history) and master's (public administration) from Western Kentucky, Sampson joined the United States Sports Academy in September 2003. Through the academy, he was hired as APSU's academic adviser intern. He expects to receive his doctorate from the academy within two years.

Sampson begins his duties July 1.
