Reservations a must for May 17 Hoppe tribute; proceeds to go to scholarships

Staff in the Office of University Advancement has received telephone calls from faculty and staff, asking if the 6:30 p.m. reception on May 17 prior to the 7 p.m. Tribute Dinner for Dr. Sherry and Bob Hoppe is a drop-in affair.

According to Sharon Silva, scholarship manager, the answer is no.

Reservations to the reception/dinner are required since food and drink must be ordered well in advance. Also, since there is limited seating in the University Center Ballroom, a final number of attendees is needed.

Faculty and staff invitations will be distributed through campus mail, along with pledge cards for those who cannot attend but want to make a tax-deductible donation to the Bob and Sherry Hoppe Scholarship Endowment.

To make it easier, faculty and staff may elect to give to the scholarship endowment through a payroll deduction.

The deadline for reservations to the Hoppe Tribute Reception and Dinner is May 11. For more information, telephone 221-7127. -- Dennie B. Burke
