For the first time since its inception two years ago, the annual Research Forum, slated for April 4, 2008, at Austin Peay State University, was opened to participation from the entire University, rather than just the College of Science and Mathematics.

According to Dr. Rebecca Jones, assistant professor of chemistry, the Third Annual Research Forum will feature presenters from the departments of biology, chemistry, physics and astronomy, art, allied health science and the School of Nursing. The poster session, from 3-5 p.m. in the Tommy Head Atrium of the Sundquist Science Complex, will feature 22 posters of graduate and undergraduate research.

Also, for the first time, the 2008 APSU Research Forum will include a keynote address. Titled “Distribution and Ecology of Myxomycetes in Terrestrial Ecosystems,” the talk will be presented by Dr. Steve Stephenson, University of Arkansas, from 11:15 a.m.-12:10 p.m. in the Sundquist Science Complex, Room E-106A.

Jones said, “The public is welcome to attend, and free refreshments will be provided during the poster session.”
