Austin Peay State University will offer its political science degree online for the first time in Fall 2004.

Dr. David Kanervo, professor and chair of political science, says, “Online classes appear to be popular with a lot of students, and having the degree online may attract more students.”

The department will offer a full schedule of online classes, so students interested in pursuing all or part of the major online will be able to complete the degree within four years. Numerous APSU political science courses have been offered online since 2001.

Dr. Matthew Kenney, assistant professor of political science, says, “By offering the major online, we intend to meet the growing demand for political science courses at APSU in this relatively new format. Still, we recognize that many students prefer traditional courses, and we will continue to meet their learning needs and preferences by offering traditional courses.”
