Dr. Jeongsub Lim, assistant professor of communication, recently had two journal articles published, both of which he co-authored. Those were “Frame-flow between government and the news media and its effects on the public: Framing of North Korea” in the International Journal of Public Opinion Research and “Influence of the gender of reporters, news topics, and circulation size on framing of public relations” in the Public Relations Journal.

He also presented two papers at the International Communication Association annual convention held in May in Chicago. One was titled “Attention and prominence dimensions of salience for major online newspapers' coverage,” and the other was “Convergence and diversity of online news.” In August, he will present a paper, titled “Analysis of strength of attribute salience among elite news web sites in terms of attention and prominence levels,” at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication annual convention in Boston.

Melony Shemberger, communication specialist in public relations and marketing, placed second in her age group (F 30-39) in the Do 4 for Freedom four-mile race held July 4 in Mayfield, Ky., with a personal best time of 36:05. She will compete July 11 in a 5K benefit race in Paducah, Ky., and July 26 in the Big Kids Triathlon in Paducah.
