Plaudits

Dr. Jill Franks, associate professor of English, presented Reel Irish: The Nationalization of Irish Solo Step Dancing on Friday, April 15, at the national ACIS (American Conference for Irish Studies) meeting at Notre Dame.

Dr. Ramon Magrans, professor of Spanish, was recognized during the Rivers & Spires Festival for continued hard work in promoting the Hispanic culture and support to the Hispanic community. In addition, he was given the key to the city in appreciation for 23 years of service to the Clarksville Hispanic Culture.

Dr. Chinyere Ogbonna-McGruder, assistant professor of administrative and public law, will be a discussant on the “Civil Liberties and Patriot Act” panel during the Tennessee Political Science Association 2005 Annual Meeting at Fall Creek Falls State Park, Tennessee. Her student, Mandy Witt, also will be a panelist at the conference, discussing “Safety for Sale: Was America Sold the Patriot Act?”
