Plaudits

Barry Kitterman, a professor in the languages and literature department, will give readings from his various works and host discussion at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26 at Hopkinsville (Ky.) Community College as part of the Hoptown Reading Series.

Melony Shemberger, communication specialist in the Public Relations and Marketing office, ran in her first half-marathon race Feb. 14 at the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge in southern Illinois.

She will compete in her first triathlon Feb. 28 in Evansville, Ind.

Five APSU faculty members and five APSU students presented at the Middle Tennessee Mathematics Teachers (MTMT) annual conference Jan. 31 at Brentwood Middle School in Brentwood.

Mathematics department faculty presenting were Ann Assad, Jackie Vogel and Mary Lou Witherspoon. Education faculty presenting were Sheila Pirkle and Jennie Preston-Sabin.

Student presenters were Carmen Caludio, Jeanne Lewis, Audrey Thomas, Dana Chadwick and Susan Runyon-Davis.

In addition, Vogel finished her two-year term as MTMT president.
