Dr. David Denton, dean of the College of Professional Programs and Social Sciences, will assume the duties of interim provost, effective Feb. 4.
As a result of Dentons appointment by President Tim Hall, Dr. Dixie Dennis, interim dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, has been named interim dean of the College of Professional Programs and Social Sciences, her academic home. Dr. Jaime Taylor, chair of the physics department, will serve as interim dean of the College of Science and Mathematics.

Dr. Stephen A. Truhon, assistant professor of psychology, recently had an article, titled "Equal opportunity climate in the United States military: Are differences in the eye of the beholder?" published in the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology.

Melony A. Jones, communication specialist in Public Relations and Marketing, recently earned first-place honors during the Kentucky Press Association annual newspaper contest. The award was in the Ongoing/Extended Coverage Story category for work at the Todd County Standard. She is a freelance writer for the newspaper as well as for other news organizations in the west Kentucky and middle Tennessee areas.
