Susan Bryant, professor of art, and Dr. Matthew Kenney, assistant professor of political science, recently organized a silent auction to fund projects that will benefit San Pedro Chenalho, a rural county in Chiapas, Mexico.

Both faculty members have traveled to San Pedro Chenalho the last two summers to work on social justice projects. Together, they joined Chiapas Mission — a group of concerned individuals from Kentucky and Tennessee who provide monthly support to the people in the Mexican community — in organizing the auction, which was April 8 at The Downtown Artists Co-op Gallery in Clarksville.

Many of the auction items included photographs taken by members of the Chiapas Mission following their 10-day visit last July in San Pedro Chenalho, and by Bryant, who also is a professional photographer.
