Plaudits

Dr. Thomas King, professor of music, recently presented a master class to opera students at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

King, who was a professional opera singer in Germany in the 1980s, continues to offer advice to young professionals about singing.

Dr. Robert A. Sirk, professor of geography, presented a paper, Conversion, Contradiction and Community: The Shaping of Peanut Island, Fla., during the annual meeting of the Association of American Geographers, March 7-11 in Chicago.

Also at the conference, Sirk was session chair for “Human Impacts on Coastal Development.”
