Dr. Sharon Mabry, mezzo-soprano and professor of music, was the featured recitalist, lecturer and master class teacher for the New Music Symposium at Indiana University in Bloomington on Jan. 27-28.
Mabry presented a recital of music by contemporary composers, assisted by Patsy Wade at the piano.
The two-day event was sponsored by the University NATS student chapter and included singers from regional universities and the graduate programs in voice at Indiana University.
Dr. Jill Franks, associate professor of English, will present a paper titled, “Bad Baobabs and Active Volcanoes: Oedipal Conflict in The Little Prince,” at the 20th Century Literature and Culture Conference on Feb. 24 in Louisville.
