A pat on the back to faculty in the School of Education who taught or mentored Hazelwood Elementary School Principal Rhonda Kennedy. Kennedy was named Tennessee's Principal of the Year for 2005. Son, Kevin, serves as president of APSU's Student Government Association.

President Sherry Hoppe was a panelist for the opening session of the Tennessee Economic Council on Women's Economic Summit for Women, held Oct. 17 in Nashville. Titled “The Face of Tennessee Women Leaders,” the session's other panelists were Rep. Kim McMillan, House Majority Leader; Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, 7th District; Jana Skewes, president and CEO of Shared Health BCBS and the Hon. Cornelia A Clark, Tennessee Supreme Court.
