Physics prof earns top honors for teaching

At a recent international conference, the chair of the Austin Peay State University Department of Physics and Astronomy was honored for innovative use of technology in teaching and learning.

At the 18th Annual International Conference on College Teaching and Learning, held at the Center for Advancement of Teaching and Learning in Jacksonville, Fla., Dr. Jaime Taylor, professor of physics and department chair, received the Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology.

At the 18th Annual International Conference on College Teaching and Learning, held at the Center for Advancement of Teaching and Learning in Jacksonville, Fla., Dr. Jaime Taylor, professor of physics and department chair, received the Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Technology.

With about 1,000 attendees, including 800 faculty members from 48 colleges and universities worldwide, the conference emphasized research and practice in teaching and learning with a focus on uses of innovative learning strategies and the Internet in face-to-face, blended and online course development and teaching. -- Dennie B.
