Pay it forward: Sign up for the sick leave bank

January is the only month you can join the Faculty or Non-Faculty Sick Leave Bank, which provides additional sick leave to employees who have used all of their sick and annual leave for a serious illness or injury.

By using leave from the bank, an employee can remain on full salary rather than being forced to go on leave without pay.

Any employee who wishes to join the sick leave bank agrees to be assessed a specific number of sick leave hours from their personal balance. The initial assessment for each new member will be the equivalent of three sick leave days.
