Opera Theatre 2007 to feature 70 students, full orchestra

More than 70 students from Austin Peay State University and the surrounding community will participate in APSUs Opera Theatre 2007.

The event, featuring Beethovens Fidelio (four scenes) and Brittens Noyes Fludde (Noahs Flood), will begin at 7:30 p.m., Saturday April 21 and at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 22 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall.

There will be a short performance of Opera Café in the MMC lobby 45 minutes prior to the start of each opera.

Noyes Fludde will include school children from Hopkinsville, Ky., and More than 70 students from Austin Peay State University and the surrounding community will participate in APSU's Opera Theatre 2007.

The event, featuring Beethoven's “Fidelio” (four scenes) and Britten's “Noye's Fludde” (Noah's Flood), will begin at 7:30 p.m., Saturday April 21 and at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 22 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall.

“Noye's Fludde” will include school children from Hopkinsville, Ky., and
Clarksville. APSU music students will sing the lead roles in both operas.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and can be purchased at the door.
