Austin Peay State University's new online portal, OneStop, is an all-inclusive Web site where personal information as well as news, events and announcements can be found — of course, all in one stop.
“We encourage students to use OneStop as much as possible to access University content,” said Steve Wilson, Web designer who has been involved in the implementation of OneStop. “This has been developed to make their lives at APSU easier.”
To access OneStop, go online to onestop.apsu.edu. Both the user's A number and a password are needed. The password for OneStop is a six-digit personal identification number (PIN), the same one used for the University's Web Self-Service.
Once logged in, a student can access e-mail, grades, courses, news, announcements — and much more. Employees can view their leave balances and other personal information.
“You can create and join online groups,” Wilson said. “You can share files and photos, chat and post to group-only message boards and send messages to group members.”
Student organizations, faculty and staff departments, clubs and support groups all have the ability to create and use the group function, he said. Groups can be accessed using the Groups icon at the top right of the page.
OneStop allows users to personalize and organize the information they need. Channels can be added to each tab using the Content/Layout link in the top left of the page. The My Tab link is available for users to add new content.
Also, starting soon, announcements will offer more functionality.
“Your personal announcements channel will include only those announcements that pertain to you specifically,” Wilson said. “No more sifting through tons of announcements to find the information you need.”
In addition, the APMail link along the top of the page will allow students to enter their APMail (apmail.student.apsu.edu) username and password, only once.
“OneStop then will save the login information so that you don't have to enter it again, no matter where you are in the world,” said Reggie Wooden, Internet specialist who also has been assisted in launching OneStop.
Anyone experiencing login problems or other technical difficulties should contact the APSU Helpdesk by telephone at 221-HELP (4357) or by e-mail at email@example.com. -- Melony A. Jones
