“We want to make top-quality professional development and continuing education programs available to everyone, and online classes make it easy for people to work their classes in with work and family,” says Mary Alice Burkhart, coordinator of noncredit and customized programs. “ROCE classes are open to everyone looking for job-related skills and career advancement.”

ROCE will offer two courses this spring: “Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) Review” and “Intensive Survival Spanish for Law Enforcement Personnel.”

The CPS Review Course in Office Administration is the first in a series of three courses designed to prepare students to take the nationally recognized CPS Exam. The State of Tennessee, state colleges and universities and many private sector employers offer incentives and raises to their employees for successful completion of the CPS examination. The course fee is $200.

Intensive Survival Spanish for Law Enforcement Personnel is designed to provide non-Spanish speaking law enforcement personnel with the most important Spanish commands, questions and phrases critical to protect the community. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required. The course runs March 14-June 18, 2005. The course fee is $120.

Additional information and online registration forms are available at http://www.rodp.org/roce. For more information, telephone the Center at (931) 221-7816.
