NCAA tournament ends for Lady Govs with 83-66 fall to LSU

Austin Peays womens basketball team lost to No. 4 seed Louisiana State in a March 21 first-round NCAA contest in Baton Rouge. The Lady Govs fourth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance ended in an 83-66 loss.

The Lady Govs were behind by 10 points at halftime. They scored five points at the beginning of the second half but fell to LSUs turnovers as the Lady Tigers stole the ball 15 times.

Senior Gerlonda Hardin, the only player in APSU history to appear in four consecutive NCAA tournaments, scored 12 points and five rebounds. She ended her Lady Govs career as the program's second all-time leading scorer (1,863 points), best rebounder (982) and top shot blocker (223).

The Lady Govs have been Ohio Valley Conference champions four years in a row.
