National curriculum specialist and author to speak

Austin Peay State University presents Dr. Pam Schiller, national curriculum specialist and author.

Schiller will present the talk, Are You Tickling Brains as Well as Tummies With Your Early Childhood Curriculum? at 6:45 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 in the Kimbrough Building Gentry Auditorium. Schiller will be available to sign books 8:30-9 p.m.

Schiller will present the talk, “Are You Tickling Brains as Well as Tummies With Your Early Childhood Curriculum?” at 6:45 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 in the Kimbrough Building Gentry Auditorium. Schiller will be available to sign books 8:30-9 p.m.

A childcare administrator for many years, Schiller also has taught as a kindergarten teacher. She has served as head of the University of Houston's Early Childhood Department and is the author of several children's books, DVDs, CDs and teacher resource books.

According to Schiller, “There need be no mystery about the quality of life we provide for our children. Their access to information, their safety and well-being and their joy, is in our hands. Our actions today and tomorrow, what we do and do not do (not some uncontrollable chain of events) will determine their fateultimately our future.”

The cost of the presentation is $5 for students, $10 for Tennessee Association for the Education of Young Children members and $15 for nonmembers.
