Music department to host faculty recital Oct. 22

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music will present a concert featuring Dr. Lisa Vanarsdel accompanied by Dr. Patricia Halbeck, both professors of music.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m., Monday Oct. 22 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Austin Peay State University Department of Music will present a concert featuring Dr. Lisa Vanarsdel accompanied by Dr. Patricia Halbeck, both professors of music.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m., Monday Oct. 22 in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Vanarsdel is professor of flute and is director of flute studies at APSU. She has been on the faculty of the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts where she received the Outstanding Teacher Award. In addition to performing at both regional and national conferences, Vanarsdel is active in the Mid-South Flute Society.

Halbeck teaches various piano courses at APSU and is the founder of the Austin Peay Community School of the Arts. She was the winner of the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and has appeared as an accompanist and soloist throughout the U.S.
