MTSU celebrates $4 million gift, plans ground-breaking for new Honors CollegeFebruary 25, 2002

Middle Tennessee State University is celebrating a milestone this week. The university reached its goal of raising $2 million to match a gift from an alumnus Paul W. Martin. The $4 million total will allow the university to break ground on the Paul W. Martin Honors College in the next few months. Martin, chief managing member of Clarity Resources LLC of Knoxville was the Honors College's first graduate. The college now has 854 students and 154 faculty members. In addition to classrooms, the 20,000-square foot building housing the college will include a science lab, an amphitheater, a computer lab, lounge and study areas and some faculty offices.
